Other Requirements
Strong oral communication and technical writing skills are essential. A willingness and ability to travel extensively (approximately 100 days per year) is required - travel is typically scheduled in two or three-week increments. Must currently reside in or relocate to Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a valid state driver's license. Must be able to obtain federal government security clearance.  
Job Description
Laboratory Assessors perform assessments of construction materials testing laboratories located in all fifty states, Canada and Puerto Rico. This is an entry-level position that offers a unique opportunity to travel independently throughout the U.S. and beyond. Laboratory Assessors independently plan and implement assigned assessment trips, during which a review of each laboratory's testing equipment, performance of testing procedures, and quality system documentation is performed in accordance with the requirements of nationally recognized AASHTO and ASTM standards. Construction materials currently included in the scope of our programs include asphalt, aggregate, soil, metals and plastic pipe.  
Education Requirements
A bachelor's degree in science (geology, environmental, etc.) or engineering (civil, mechanical, industrial, materials or environmental), or equivalent experience, is required.
